Munich in Depth

Today we spent the day exploring Munich & nearby Dachau, site of the first Nazi concentration camp.
We began by riding a tram & then a train out to Dachau, then switched to a bus.
Visiting Dachau is never a fun visit, but it's an important once.  The group enjoyed the journey & learned a lot during the visit.
Back in the heart of Munich we split into smaller groups & had time for lunch.  Some folks took the chance to visit the Resident, the former city palace home of the Wittelsbachs.
Later we regrouped & went for a fun bike ride into the English Garden, the huge park in the center of Munich.  Along the way we stopped to see surfers on the river, sunbathers, a Japanese tea house, & a Chinese Tower!
Dinner this evening was at the world-famous Hofbrahaus. We enjoyed traditional Bavarian food with a musical - & even whip-cracking - accompaniment!
